When Oz was a weanling he got kicked in the nose by one of the horses he was with on
pasture, breaking his nasal bone...and ended up losing 2 inches off it.  After a lengthy
trip to the vets at Oregon State Vet School and recuperating at home with Pam's loving
care, he healed up and became the stallion I bought in 2002.

Then in September of 2002, he broke his lower right jaw.  Vets said it could be from a
kick from one of his mares or could be he just swung at a bot or fly a bit too hard and
hit a post or tree.  End result, another trip, this time to the Missouri State Vet School
in Columbia to have surgery on that!  After getting to spend a week there to make
sure things were going to heal,  we brought him back home for lots more nursing care.
And on the day before Thanksgiving we took him back to Columbia to have the plate
and screws removed if his x-rays looked good....and they did!  So he is now all healed
except for the slightly swollen incision site which should go down, but his show career is
over, now it's up to his foals to prove what a great sire he is.

During all his stays at the hospitals, the doctors and vet techs were amazed at his
disposition and willing attitude.  Typical appaloosa to me.
